Ingliston 02/05/10

A bit of a change this, our first chance to drive round the old Ingliston circuit.

It wasn't a Scottish championship event, but we couldn't resist the promise of rather higher speeds than at the rest of the Scottish sprint circuits.  We weren't disappointed, with 115mph being the order of the day on the straight, and it promises more than that if we can just find the right speed to come on to the the straight, and the right place to brake at the end.

From a technical standpoint, this was the first time we tried downshifts without using the clutch, and it's fair to say we probably won't be using the clutch again any time soon.  Downshifts were faster and smoother done this way, so the pneumatic shift system is definitely a success.
